A. Personal reminiscence
This is a 3-parter. You must have:

· Remembering a person (photo) 1 page

B. My favorite 100 things—write a list of 100 things you love. These things don’t have to necessarily be in complete sentences, but must be complete thoughts (5 word minimum per thing).
C. An honor/accomplishment I am proud of
D. Three favorite books I have read and why I liked them. Write a short paragraph on each and explain.
E. Values important to me. This can be done as a list or as an essay, whichever you prefer. However, it must be in complete sentences, and you must explain WHY you hold certain values in high regard. You MUST address at least 5 values in detail.
F. The most important lessons I have learned (15 minimum). This can be done as a list or as an essay, whichever you prefer. However, it must be in complete sentences, and you must explain WHY you hold certain lessons in high regard.
G. An autobiographical poem or original artwork. This must include a typed paragraph explaining the work.
H. Favorite Quotes/Sayings and why they are important to you. (Three quote minimum.) These can be done as a list or an essay as well. These must be at least semi-famous/significant quotes. You may include one quote from someone you know and admire, but you must explain the background and significance of the quote. If you want to include cheesy Facebook quotes you, but they cannot be part of your three required.
I. My advice to me. Write a letter to your freshman self. Tell yourself all the things you wish you would have known walking into high school. It is said that our vision is 20/20 in hindsight, so write this as if you were able to go back in time to give yourself advice and things to watch out for.
J. My letter to future me. Write a letter to yourself 5 years down the road. While this might seem silly or pointless now, it just might prove to be a great motivator on a cold night when you’re feeling homesick or alone.
K. A story about one of your fondest memories from grade school. Perhaps this story will involve when you met your best friend. It might be conquering a fear. It might just be a funny story you don’t want to forget.
2. PEOPLE I ADMIRE (Complete ALL) DO NOT DUPLICATE PEOPLE
A. An interview report--Choose ONE of the following:
1.A FAMOUS interview report: What famous person would you like to have interviewed? The person must be deceased. Write a brief summary about why you selected that person. Submit questions you would like to ask, and why you are asking that question. Research the person and write your interview report answering the questions from information you found in your research. Try to include a photo of the person you interviewed.
2.A PAST interview report: Interview a relative or neighbor about the past—what was it like being a teenager, how things are different, etc. Try to include a photo of the person you interviewed. (You may use the one you did for the interview essay assignment.)
B. Write about someone who has had a significant impact/influence on your life. Include a photo, ideally of you and the person.
C. Write a letter to a teacher who had an impact on your life. You must provide a second copy which I will deliver to him/her if possible.
D. Write a letter to your caregivers (whether it’s your parents, grandparents, or whomever you consider your caregiver as a child). Tell this person/people about the impact they’ve had on your life.
3. PERSONAL COMMENTARY—ALL in bold must be completed and choose ONE of the other two in addition.
A. An icon of my generation—use clip art/magazine picture to place a picture of your icon on your paper. This is NOT a person—it is an icon. Something like cell phones or iPods would be appropriate. This is still a one page written explanation.
B. Personal thoughts on international fronts
Ex: How has the war in Afghanistan affected you? What is your personal reaction to the Sandy Hook tragedy?
C. My ideas on—Choose one:
1.Marriage (not the person you want to marry, but what marriage means to you) –OR--
2.Raising children/message to your future children
D. My dream house (describe the house spatially). You may include a picture or sketch.
E. My PERSONAL life 10 years from now--This is about your personal life. Address things like your marital status, your geographical location, whether you see yourself having kids, pets, land, etc.
4. CURRENT EVENTS—Research 4 current events (Complete ALL)
A. Two should have local ties.
B. Two may be international.
These must SOMEHOW have an impact on you and your generation. You must explain that impact.

· Summarize the article.
· Explain the effect the event might have on the world in the future.
*LOCAL events may be from ANYTIME in this ACADEMIC YEAR.
*INTERNATIONAL/NATIONAL events should be within the last month or so of school.
5. PROFESSIONAL INFORMATION (Complete ALL)
A. My PROFESSIONAL plans for the next 10 years.—Lay this out however you choose. You might do a year-by-year listing or you might just write it as an essay. Include personal and professional goals. Where will you be working? What will your title be? How will you get there?
B. My RESUME—use a template on Microsoft Word or an example from the Write for College book. It is your choice whether to write this as a resume AFTER you have a degree or one to get a job while you’re at school.
C. My APPLICATION ESSAY—you may use one you did earlier this year
D. SCHOLARSHIP ESSAYS I have written—include any and all; you may include one you did earlier this year.
E. Write a LETTER of RECOMMENDATION about YOU! Include all the reasons a college/business/individual should choose you. This is similar/exactly like the cover letter you did earlier in the year. Take a little time to brag!
EXTRA CREDIT OPTIONS:
a. Have your parents/guardians write back to you. If you include their letter(s) in response to your letter, you will receive extra credit (15)
b. Burn a copy of your entire project to a CD I can show to future classes. Hyperlink a table of contents to each of your items. (15)
c. Make a music montage/PowerPoint correlated with your project. You should have slides to tell the viewer where you are in the project with title slides and pictures which correspond to your writing. Clips and quotes from your writing should be included with the pictures. (25)
d. Make a tri-fold summary of your project. The entire surface should be covered with something meaningful to you. Include samples of your best pieces from your project on the tri-fold. Include your name in a prominent and artistic way. (15)
